Getting ready for baby...

David and I worked all weekend getting Stayton's room all emptied out and ready for paint. That room was previously the extra bedroom. So we had to switch the extra bedroom to where the office was and well...no more office. It was so much work cleaning out the closets and getting everything organized, but it was well worth it when we were done. We went to Babies-R-Us this weekend for the first time ever and had a blast! We bought Stayton 2 of the cutest little outfits and a pair of Puma's. It's so cute looking at his closet with the two outfits in there. We are ready to fill that closet up! We decided on the bedding we like and ordered it Monday night. We are ready to get it in so we can go buy paint to paint his room!!! Life is good!

May 18, 2009 - Doctors Appointment...

We went in for our normal monthy appointment today with Dr. Weidower and everything looked great!!! She did a quick ultrasound to see the heartbeat and the baby was sooooo cute! I could see it's little full body profile. It was moving around like crazy so she couldn't get a good still image of the lil' peanut. It was so neat getting to see OUR baby! So very exciting!!! We can't wait until Thursday to find out the sex of our lil' one! 2 MORE DAYS!!!

This exact time next week I will know whether I will have a little boy or a little girl! Time has truly flown by faster than I could ever imagine! We are so very excited and wanted to share it with all of you.

Baby's first kick...

Last night at about 3:15 am I was sound asleep and WHAM...I felt the first kick! It was so intense that it woke me up! I've felt the baby rolling around before, but never an actual kick. This one was sooooo hard! It's probably the neatest thing I've ever experienced. I had to wake David up and tell him all about it. I just had to post something about the baby's first kick!

How we found out...

I figured I would put our story up as to how we found out that we were pregnant. I say "we" like David really has to go through all the torture! Haha!

We started trying for our baby in November. I had my doctors visit with Dr. Gibb's to make sure that I was healthy enough to be a mother because this was my objective from the beginning. He gave me the "go ahead" and David and I started trying. We tried for months with nothing. I was so upset and afraid that all of those years of being heavy made me infertile.

The weekend that I was very down in the dumps and pretty much lost all hope my family was supposed to have our new horse, Lady delivered. We were very excited, but it was also very bittersweet because we missed Penny so much. As most of you know, I'm not a very emotional person unless I get my feelings hurt. So when Lady arrived and I started balling I knew it was just a little strange. I mean you would've thought I was hurt! I was hysterical! I knew something was up because I was two days late and I've NEVER been one second late...EVER! So I decided I should take a test.

I was very scared of taking yet another test and it being negative. I took it and a very fine pink second line showed up. It was almost invisible as you can see in the picture. It was so light that I figured it was a figment of my imagination. At that point, I went to my friend Misty's house and we went to Walgreens and she bought me about every kind of pregnancy test Walgreens sold. I took all 3 that we bought and she made me go sit in the living room. She came around the corner after a few minutes and showed me one of the digital tests. It said, "YES"!!! I about fell off the couch!

I'm pretty sure that will be marked as one of the best days of my life! We are so very blessed to be able to be parents and can't wait until our little bundle of joy is here!!!

Our first blog entry...

We are so very excited about being parents!!! We've been waiting for this day it seems like forever. David and I both wanted to wait until the time was right to start having children. I've always wanted to be a mom, but I wanted to wait until I could be the best mom possible. We've been together for 10 years and married 5 so we decided one night that we were both ready. I had lost the 130 lbs. needed to be healthy and we were just all around ready. It's nuts because we both just looked at each other and said, "I'm ready to be a mom/dad." David's been telling me for about a year that he wants to be a dad so bad. It just took me awhile to get in the shape I needed to be in to chase a little one around. The whole reason I wanted to be healthier is so I could be a mom.

Above is our first ultrasound picture. We call the baby peanut now because we don't know the sex. We already have our names picked out for when we find out what it's going to be. Sorry...they are a secret until then :-)

Needless to say, we are really excited!!! We can't wait until May 21st to find out what we are having! We are so excited to buy baby clothes and decorate the room!!!
